AWARENESS: DEVELOPMENTS IN JOB MARKET & PARADIGM SHIFT IN HIRING STRATEGY


MASSIVE AWARENESS PROGRAM ABOUT THE DEVELOPMENTS IN THE JOB MARKET AND CHANGES IN HIRING STRATEGY BY COMPANIES

Corporate Resource Centre (CRC) engages regularly with the students of all streams of all seniority from every faculty once a semester. The engagement sessions are well coordinated with the help of respective faculty members and the HoDs.

In recent months, following the interaction with the leading Industry partners in their corporate events and in the industry-academia conclaves, CRC has been able to gather significant information related to the impact of ‘disruptive technologies’ and ‘neo-nationalistic’ policies on the job markets all over the world and particularly in India. It has also compelled the recruiting companies to look at their hiring strategies. It is observed that there has been a paradigm shift in the hiring strategy from ‘volume hiring’ to ‘value hiring’, from ‘employability’ to ‘deployability’, ‘general ability’ to ‘context-based demonstrable capability’ and so on. Even some parameters such as Aptitude, Attitude and Communication Skills are subjected to new levels of testing in search of higher levels of excellence.

In its’ strive to disseminate all these job market related developments to the students across the campus, a time bound calendar has been prepared. In the last two days (March 01 & 02), three session were taken with students of MRCE (CST – 6th Sem), FET (ECE – 2nd, 4th & 6th Sem) & FCA (MCA, BCA & B.Sc. IT – All Sem) engaging over 500-students.
